Can I own my solar system outright?
When you purchase a solar system, you’ll be able to buy a home solar system outright through Kilo Hollow. When you purchase your own system, you’ll directly receive the federal and state solar incentives, tax credits, and rebates for which you are qualified.
How many solar panels will my home need?
Every household will need a different number of panels based on how much energy it uses, available space and wattage of the solar panels.
Can I really have a solar and home backup battery installed for $0 down?

Do I have enough ground area for a solar system?
A medium size ground array typically employs 24 solar panels, depending on the size of your array, which determines the number of individual panels. Each panel is approximately 4 ft by 6 ft, giving the array a total area of 576 square ft. Depending on the available space, they can be mounted in a portrait or landscape orientation.
Do solar panels increase property taxes?
Solar panels could help you increase the value of your property. Fortunately, most states exclude residential solar systems from property taxes, so you may not have to pay anything extra for the potential value your system brings to your home.
Will owning solar panels increase my home value?
Studies linking solar panels to home value increases
For an example, a study by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory yields a formula of a $5,000 resale value increase for every kilowatt (kW) of solar installed. To get that same $48,000 home value increase from the Appraiser’s Journal with this calculation, you’d need a 9.6kW system (9.6 x $5,000 = $48,000).
How many batteries do you need to power a house?
Unfortunately, this is not a simple question to answer. How much battery storage you need requires a little math; we need to know the size of your solar system, how much solar energy you produce and the amount of electricity you consume.

What happens if my system breaks or isn't working as expected?
We stand behind our solar and battery systems, using technology to optimize their quality, efficiency, and price. All of our home solar and storage systems come with comprehensive warranties; but, because our customers own their systems through our system purchase plan, they will be responsible for any repair costs not covered by the manufacturer warranty warranties.
Kilo Hollow warranties the labor for 2 years after the date of installation.
How long do solar panels really last?
Solar panels have a lifespan of 25 to 30 years, and in certain cases, much longer. This isn’t to say that your system’s solar panels will stop producing electricity in a few decades. It simply implies that their energy production will be reduced by the amount determined by solar panel manufacturers to fulfill the energy needs of the average household. You can expect major solar benefits for the next 20 to 30 years provided you take adequate care and upkeep.
What happens during a solar installation?
Once you’ve been approved for solar, we’ll conduct a site inspection at your home so that our Solar Installation Technicians can work on and present your system design.
Our Solar Design Specialists will next make any necessary changes to your solar design and receive your final approval. We’ll submit your design to the city for permitting after it’s been accepted, which could take up to eight weeks. Your solar installation will then be completed by Kilo Hollow. We only employ trained solar installers, so you can rest assured that your solar installation will be of the greatest quality.
The city or county will inspect your system after it has been installed. It will be linked to the grid once it has been approved, and we will send your paperwork to your utility company. You’ll be ready to go once your utility company has given you Permission to Operate (PTO).

Does Virginia have any incentives to go solar?
State tax credits, property and sales tax exemptions, Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs), and solar rebates from your local utility are just a few of the most prevalent solar incentives.
