Owners of pure electric vehicles may find it beneficial to install a wall charger so that charging may be completed in a few hours rather than overnight or over several days.

Your EV or plug-in hybrid may be recharged using the provided connection and a nearby 120-volt outlet, such as one in your home or garage. For most drivers, overnight 120-volt power may be sufficient to meet the range requirements of a regular commute. With their low battery capacity and ability to run on gasoline, plug-in hybrids are unlikely to merit the purchase of a wall charger.

A wall charger, on the other hand, is a convenience and a sensible expenditure for drivers who frequently consume 100+ miles of range in a single day.
